A JOINT operation of Bataan Police Provincial Office, Bataan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Bataan 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Regional Investigation Division (RID) 3, and Mariveles Municipal Police Station (MPS) resulted in the arrest of a wanted gun-for-hire and drug personality in Brgy. Mt. View, Mariveles, Bataan last week.
Police reports said the suspect, identified as Angelo Perez y San Andres, was the one who shot and wounded the provincial legal officer in San Fernando, Pampanga on April 17, 2023. A warrant of arrest for frustrated murder was issued against him.
According to Bataan Police Director Police Colonel Palmer Tria, Perez was also the main suspect in the Imran Akhtar murder case in Dinalupihan, Bataan that happened May of this year.
The composite team led by PCol. Tria, acted on the information that the suspect was hiding in the area. They recovered from the suspect a caliber .45 pistol, a fragmentation grenade, and four sachets of suspected crystal meth or shabu worth P77,244.
Tria praised the participating units and personnel for capturing the suspect who is a notorious lawless element involved in various crimes and illegal activities. He also said that further investigation will be done to determine his possible involvement in other crimes committed in the province.
This achievement, he said, shows the Bataan PPO’s dedication to secure the lives and properties of the people by eliminating the threats and danger in the province, especially with the upcoming Barangay and SK Elections in October 2023.
