PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte named Melvin Alvarez Matibag as the new Cabinet Secretary.
He replaces former Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles, who was appointed recently by Duterte as the new chairman of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
The appointment papers of Matibag, who is also the Secretary General of the PDP-Laban, Duterte’s political party, was signed yesterday, March 8, 2022.
Matibag likewise took his oath of office in Malacanang in front of Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, who administered Matibag’s oath.
