Nearly half million-peso worth of shabu, seized from killed HVI in Laguna sting

AT least 75 grams of suspected high grade shabu worth a total of P495,000.000 were seized from a High Value Individual (HVI) who was killed during a gunfight with police in an anti-drug operation in Binan City, Laguna on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

Laguna Provincial Police Office (LPPO) Director Col. Serafin Petalio II identified the slain suspect as Abdul Rahman Camama y Alangadi alias “Orak”, 34, a resident of Golden City Subdivision, Canlalay, Biñan City, Laguna.

Report said personnel of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO) together with the Station Drug Enforcement Group of the Biñan City Police Station (CPS) conducted the said operation at the PNR station in Purok Dos Barangay Sto. Nino.

According to Petalio based on the information given by several “tipster”, suspect was said to be engaging in a series of illegal drug trade in the said area.

Authorities conducted weeks of surveillance before launching the operation which resulted to the neutralization of Camama.

Investigation said, Camama drew his gun and indiscriminately shoots at under cover policemen prompting them to return fire.

The emergency rescue unit of Biñan rushed the wounded suspect to Ospital ng Biñan in Barangay Canlalay for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Authorities recovered from a black backpack of Camama a stash of illegal drugs and a .45 caliber pistol use in the said gunfight.   

Petalio said that Camama was known as a high value individual on their list and an alleged member of notorious Almazan Drug Group who operates in the city and nearby town.
