NCR positivity rate drops to three percent

THE positivity rate or the rate of infection in the National Capital Region (NCR) continues to drop as it hit three percent, according to an independent research group.

The OCTA Research Group made the announcement after it recorded a 2.58 Average Daily Attack Rate (ADAR) and 0.37 reproduction number or spread of the infection.

The announcement came a day after the Department of Health reported a 4.3-percent positivity rate for the entire country.

According to Dr. Guido David of OCTA Research, the positivity rate of the NCR is even lower than the 5-percent recommendation of the World Health Organization.

He said that three local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila are already considered as under the very low risk category while 14 area already low risk for COVID-19.

Navotas, Malabon and Caloocan are the three LGUs in the NCR that are already considered very low risk.
