About 80 percent of people are back in public places — DTI

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) estimated that about 80 percent of the people have gone back to public places like malls and other leisure places during the past weekend.

He reported that the feedback of the business sector on the first week of implementation of Alert Level 2 in Metro Manila was positive.

During the Laging Handa public briefing, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez noted that about 50-80 percent of the crowds have gone back to public places over the weekend, that resulted to a renewed vigor in the business sector.

Lopez hopes that data will continue to improve not only in Metro Manila but also in other parts of the country to further open up the economy, which will also be good for employment.

On the part of business establishments. they said they are strictly following the mandated health and safety protocols.

They said they have Safety and Health Protocol Officers in their establishments to make sure that minimum public health standards like the wearing of face masks, face shields and physical distancing are strictly observed.
