Mother and child dead, one injured in suspected murder-suicide in Biñan City

Biñan City, Laguna — A quiet Thursday afternoon turned into a nightmare for residents of a gated community in Biñan City after a man allegedly shot his partner and children before taking his own life in what authorities suspect to be a murder-suicide driven by jealousy.

The tragic incident took place around 3:00 p.m. in Southville 5A, Barangay Langkiwa. Responding to reports of gunfire, local authorities found the bodies of a woman and her 10-year-old son inside their home. An 11-year-old boy, also a child of the couple, was found injured and was immediately rushed to Ospital ng Biñan for treatment.

According to an initial investigation by Biñan City police, a heated argument between the live-in couple—allegedly fueled by intense jealousy—led to the fatal shooting.

Barangay officials had to break through the home’s locked gate to allow responders to access the scene. Inside, police found the victims along with the suspect, identified as a 40-year-old man who worked as a driver and bodyguard. Authorities believe he shot his family before turning the weapon on himself.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for autopsy, while the police continue a thorough investigation to determine the complete circumstances surrounding the incident.

Local officials have expressed condolences to the surviving family members and are urging the public to report signs of domestic conflict before they escalate into violence.
