Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Over a hundred Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) personnel regionwide have contracted and have been tested positive of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
PRO3 Regional Director PBrig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon said on Saturday that the police regional office posted 102 COVID-19 cases.
The Central Luzon police head also said that all personnel who have tested positive are now placed on strict quarantine and monitoring and were immediately transferred to the quarantine facilities.
De Leon stated that precautionary measures are being undertaken amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases such as limited number of visitors entering Camp Olivas for official business and prohibition of personal visits.
Gatherings and events are also prohibited while seminars, conferences and the like are done virtually.
Moreover, a new work scheme for non-uniformed personnel, immuno-compromised and those with comorbidities have been arranged. “While we are still waiting for the vaccines, I constantly remind our personnel especially those manning the checkpoints and are more exposed to the virus to take extra measures to protect themselves because with this invisible enemy nobody can protect us except ourselves. If they feel that they have symptoms or had close contact with an infected person, they must immediately submit themselves for testing,” De Leon added.
