MANY regions in the country are now under minimum risk classification for COVID-19 according to Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III.

In his report to President Rodrigo Duterte during last night’s “Talk to the People,” Duque said the entire country now has a negative 57 percent 2-week growth rate, while the Average Daily Attack Rate (ADAR) per 100 thousand is at point 67 percent.

The two-week growth rate measures the speed of infection of COVID-19 while the ADAR measures the risk or threat of the spread of COVID-19 in communities.

During the past week, Duque said they recorded 526 average daily cases of COVID-19, which is lower by 41 percent from the previous 895 daily average.

Relatedly, Duque said Region 2, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Region 9 and the National Capital Region remained under low risk classification.

He pointed to the contributions of local government units (LGUs) in the decline of COVID-19 cases due to their active case finding and contact tracing to curb the spread of infection in communities.
