The missing FA-50 fighter jet of the Philippine Air Force was found Wednesday in Mt. Kalatungan, Bukidnon, with both pilots confirmed dead, the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) reported.
Eastmincom commander Lieutenant General Luis Rex Bergante confirmed the discovery around 11 a.m.
“Nakita na ‘yung aircraft sa Mt. Kalatungan. Nandun ‘yung mga pilots,” Bergante said.
Authorities are now in the process of retrieving the bodies of the pilots and the wreckage of the aircraft.
Further details on the cause of the crash and the identities of the pilots have yet to be released. Investigations are expected to follow to determine what led to the accident.
