Manila Mayor has mild COVID-19, in stable condition

In a medical bulletin issued Monday, the Sta. Ana Hospital has confirmed that Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso has mild COVID-19 and is thus experiencing mild symptoms.

According to Dr. Grace Padilla, the Director of Sta. Ana Hospital, Domagoso first took RTPCR test which eventually showed a positive result.

“He has mild colds coughs and body malaise as presenting symptoms. He has no fever,” Padilla explained.

The hospital conducted further laboratory assessment to observe the Manila mayor’s condition. His chest CT scan was later discovered to be normal.

“Our clinical impression: He has a mild covid disease. Presently, he is maintained on oral anti-biotics and vitamins as supplements. He is stable comfortable and sleeping well,” Padilla added.

In a public statement, the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) has confirmed Sunday that Domagoso tested positive for COVID-19. The capital chief was then immediately rushed to Sta. Ana Hospital.

“Nakararamdam ako ng kaunting ubo, kaunting sipon. Masakit ang aking katawan ngayon,” the Manila mayor expressed in a statement.

(I felt mild cough and cold. My body is currently in pain.)

Despite the health risk, Moreno assured that the local government will remain vigilant and continue its response against the virulent virus.

Kapit lang. Tuloy ang buhay. Tuloy pa rin ang gobyerno sa Maynila. Umasa tayo, magtiwala tayo sa Diyos, makararaos din tayo,” Moreno said.

(Hang on. Our life will go on. The Manila government will continue [to respond against COVID-19]. Let us hope, trust God, and we will overcome this.)

Padilla has also confirmed that Manila Vice Mayor Ma. Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan is on her state of recovery after she first tested positive on August 8.

Likewise, our honorable Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna is on her way to recovery as she was admitted last week. Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes for the speedy recovery that all of you have given,” the Director said.

Padilla lastly assured that the hospital’s medical specialists and nursing team will closely supervise both officials.
