Manila court orders arrest of two top Manila officials

A JUDGE from a Manila court ordered the arrest of two top officials from the local government of the City of Manila for violation of the anti-graft law

In an order issued by Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 26 Presiding Judge Edilu Hayag, among those ordered arrested were Charlie DJ. Dungo, head of the city’s Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts, and administrative officer Robert Steven Principe.

As per the judge’s order, the two officials were charged for violation of Section 3 (e) of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, a case that was filed by Dr. Flordeliz Villaseñor, former chief of the Manila Tourism Bureau and a reserve colonel of the Philippine Navy.

The court determined that there was enough probable cause against the accused after a careful evaluation of the evidence submitted to the court, a decision lauded by Villaseñor.

The judge then released a Warrant of Arrest for the capture of the two accused officials.
