NAKATAKDANG ilabas sa susunod na linggo ang komprehensibong panukala sa mga hakbang para makaiwas sa matinding epekto sa trapiko ng rehabilitasyon ng Edsa matapos ang masusing pagplano, ayon sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Sa ginanap na meeting ngayong araw, ang traffic mitigating measures ay iniharap sa Metro Manila local chief executives at representatives sa Metro Manila (MMC) Council .
Binigyang-diin ni MMDA at MMC Chairman Don Artes na ang direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na unahin ang kaginhawaan ng publiko sa panahon ng rehabilitasyon ng major thoroughfare.
“With the expected decrease in lane capacity of EDSA, we are tasked to develop the final plan centered on the President’s directive to ease the inconvenience of motorists and most especially, commuters. We will likewise clear and maintain alternate routes which will be identified once the final plan has come out,” ani Artes.
Ang pagtiyak ni Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon na ang proyekto ay masusing pinaplano dahil nakataya dito ang maraming aspeto na dapat ay hindi gaanong magambala.
“We want to lay out plans that are concrete, sure, and uncompromised to make sure that motorists and commuters will not bear too much burden as we roll out road works,” sabi ni Dizon.
Aminado naman si Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary for Regional Operations-NCR Roberto Bernardo na naghahanap ang ahensya ng mga paraan upang mapabilis ang mga gawaing rehabilitasyon.
Nangako naman ang Metro Manila Mayors na makikipagtulungan sila sa national govt, na ipaalam sa kanilang conbstituents ang nakatakdang rehab ng EDSA.
“We will assist not just in explaining but also in crafting additional policies as necessary,” ani Pateros Mayor Ike Ponce.
