THE Palace released the proclamation for the official declaration of May 3, 2022 as a regular holiday in the entire country.
Proclamation Number 1356 states that the whole nation should be given the opportunity to join our Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr or the Feast of Ramadhan.
Malacañang, however, reminded that the activities in relation to the celebration of this important Muslim holiday should be in compliance with the public health measures imposed by the national government.
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos recommended earlier that Malacañang declare May 3, 2022 as a national holiday.
Based on Proclamation 1356, the occasion wishes to emphasize the importance of religion and the culture of Eid’l Fitr and be embedded in the minds of the people that is why it is important that it be declared a regular holiday in the country.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed the proclamation yesterday, May 1, 2022.
