Low COVID-19 infections today at 4,487 new cases

The Department of Health (DOH) said 4,487 new COVID-19 cases were added to the overall tally today, the lowest since May 12, which had 4,482 new COVID-19 infections that day.

This brings the total COVID-19 cases in the country to a 1,154,388 total, while 52,291 were registered as active cases.

There were also 6,383 recoveries to bring to 1,082,725 the number of people who have recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, 110 people died of the COVID-19 infection to bring to 19,372 the total number of COVID-19 fatalities.

There were also 24 duplicates that were removed from the total case count, of which 22 are recoveries.

There were also 64 cases previously tagged as recoveries. These were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All laboratories were operational on May 16, 2021 while eight of them failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
