Valiant Filipino professional football clubs Kaya FC-Iloilo and United City FC both registered their history-making goals at the ongoing 2021 AFC Champions League Saturday night (Manila time).

Kaya FC-Iloilo vs BG Pathum United

The Ilongo squad experienced their first loss in the tournament at the hands of BG Pathum United, 1-4 at the Pathum Thani Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The Thai opponents registered the first goal of the match on the 23rd-minute, which was then followed on the 35th, 51st, and 59th minute of the match.

Kaya FC struggled to hit back and find the back of the net and was even brought down to a 10-man team following a red card received by Simone Rota just less than five minutes into the second half, as he made a hard tackle on Diogo from the Thai team.

A breakthrough was made in the 81st-minute, as Kaya FC’s Marwin Angeles made history by registering the first-ever Filipino goal at the AFC Champions League.

It is worth noting that Azkals Development Team stalwart Jarvey Gayoso and 2015 SEA Games Philippine Football squad member Fitch Johnson Arboleda played their first-ever game for Kaya FC-Iloilo on this match.

Kaya FC-Iloilo will be playing against Viettel FC of Vietnam this coming Tuesday, 29 June 2021 at 10:00 PM (Philippine Standard Time) at the Pathum Thani Stadium (Bangkok, Thailand).

United City FC vs Beijing FC

The former Ceres-Negros squad settled with a draw against Beijing FC on their opening match at the Group Stage of the ongoing 2021 AFC Champions League. Philippine Azkals Team Captain and United City FC striker Stephan Schröck registered the first goal of the match on the 28th minute. The answer from the Beijing squad came at the 73rd minute with a goal by Liang Shaowen.

United City FC will be matched up against Daegu FC of Korea also this coming Tuesday, 29 June 2021 at 10:00 PM (Philippine Standard Time) at the Bunyodkor Stadium (Tashkent).
