2016 Rio Olympics Silver Medalist Hidilyn Diaz officially qualifies to the upcoming Tokyo Olympics this July.
Diaz, who was 1 point shy from a podium finish in the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Uzbekistan held last night, will try to get the elusive Olympic gold medal in his fourth try in the biggest sports arena.

By just being part of the prequalifying tournament, Diaz secures her slot in the Olympics because of her no. 5 world ranking overall in the 55kgs women’s weightlifting category.
Hidilyn takes the 7th Olympic spot of the Philippines as she joins boxers Eumir Marcial, Irish Magno, Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam, pole vault champion EJ Obiena and world champion gymnast Carlos Yulo.
