THE Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene or Quiapo Church released today the “do’s and don’ts” that devotees should follow in the celebration of Traslacion 2022.
Because of the looming threat of COVID-19, no traditional “grand procession” will be held but the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene will continue in the country and even overseas.
For those who are unable to go to Quiapo Church because of “restrictions” set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), the church will hold several masses and other activities that can be viewed by devotees via “livestream” or online.
There will be visits by the replica of the Black Nazarene in some provinces such as in the “north and south areas,” in dioceses of Manila, and offices of government agencies.
Here are the “do’s and don’ts” during Novena Masses and on the feast day itself:
- Devoteed who will go to the church should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and should bring their vaccination card
- Wear face mask and face shield properly and bring own alcohol or sanitizer
- Don’t crowd each other or get ahead of others when entering the church
- Follow those who enforce safety protocols
- Maintain physical distancing
- Stay home, listen or watch online Masses if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
- The blessing of the Black Nazarene replica will be done after each Mass
- For the members of “Balangay,” kindly confer with the coordinator on the details about the blessing
- No touching/wiping of images; only viewing or “Pagtanaw” is allowed
- Traslacion 2022 will be celebrated in archdioceses or dioceses nationwide so there’s no need to go to Quiapo Church
