THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said choosing to be unvaccinated won’t affect job promotion for PNP personnel.

This was clarified by PNP Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos in explaining the “no jab, no duty” policy for policemen.

According to PGen. Carlos, vaccination is not a requirement for promotion so they will not implement this.

He added that under the new guidelines, they will see how unvaccinated PNP personnel can contribute in some other ways.

One way is to transfer them to “low risk” tasks such as doing administrative work.

Meanwhile, PNP Health Service Director PBGen. Antonino Cerujales said there are 1,808 police personnel who are unvaccinated.

He said that 299 have medical reasons, 194 said they have allergies, 393 are pregnant, 63 have just given birth, 69 pointed to their religious beliefs, nine are under quarantine while the others failed to provide any concrete reason for choosing to remain unvaccinated.
