So who says only Filipinos are into “hugot” songs?

If there’s a Moira dela Torre in our midst who’s well loved in these parts, then you might want to listen to 17-year-old Filipino-American singer Olivia Rodrigo, whose new single “Drivers license” is topping global music charts.

She’s topped practically every music streaming site there is, from Spotify to Apple Music and then Amazon Music, where “Drivers license” became “the most requested song ever in one day on Alexa globally, the biggest first week streaming debut ever globally on Amazon Music.”

And it doesn’t end there.

Just recently, “Drivers license” also vroomed to the top of the biggest music charts in the world. It debuted at No. 1 not just on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US but also on the Billboard Hot 100, The Official UK Singles chart, as well as the ARIA Singles chart in Australia.

Who knows what other music charts in the world this actor (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on Disney +) and pop singer will conquer?

Well, she became a top trending topic on Twitter, while her MTV for Drivers License now has more than 49 million views on YouTube and still trending on the video-sharing platform.
