Faith healer turns out to be “fake” healer, busted by CIDG

On Friday evening of November 27, 2020, operatives of the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-City Field Unit (CIDG-CFU) conducted an entrapment operation against a 40 year old female who introduces herself as a faith healer in Olongapo City.

The operation stemmed from the complaints of a certain Rachelle Anne Delos Reyes and Susan Lorenzo allegedly, the suspect Jonalyn De Leon, encourages them to believed that she was a faith healer and they have to lend their gold jewelries for her to bless it for their protection.

However, the suspect did not return their jewelries which prompted the authorities to conduct entrapment operation against De Leon.

It was later found out in the investigation that De Leon is the leader of De Leon Criminal Gang, a newly identified gang involved in theft, swindling and estafa within the area of Olongapo City.

Their modus was to pretend as faith healers possessed allegedly by Sto. Niño or other spiritual elements.

According to CIDG-CFU chief Police Major Michael John Villanueva, De Leon managed to get over P130,000 worth of various types of gold jewelries from the victims.

The fake healer is now under the custody of the CIDG-CFU while charges of robbery and estafa is being readied against her.
