THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said they expect an increase of the 8 focused crimes in Metro Manla now that it is under Alert Level 1.
The NCRPO leadership admitted that they have already monitored an increase in crime rate in the NCR after it was placed under a more loose Alert Level 1 classification.
According to NCRPO Director, P/MGen. Felipe Natividad, he already instructed all district and city unit commanders to improve police visibility in their areas of responsibility.
Although Natividad was bothered by the possible increase in crimes in Metro Manila under Alert Level 1, he assured that this will be quickly resolved. This is amid the weekly increase in prices of petroleum products and its effect on goods and services.
Data from the NCRPO revealed that from March 2-13, Theft is the number one crime in NCR with 76 cases. This was followed by Robbery with 44, Physical Injuries with 32, Rape with 22, theft of motorcycles with 18, Murder with only five, Homicide and Carnapping both with 4, while Special Complex Crrimes has only one.
