Duterte extends Janairos’ term of another six-months as Health’s Regional Director for Calabarzon

Dr. Eduardo Janairos’ term as the Regional Director of the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 4A has been extended for another six-months.

His term extension was approved recently by President Rodrigo Duterte last  December 15, prior to his compulsary retirement on November 20, 2020 after serving the agency for 38 years.

“I welcome the privilege to serve the government again. Nagpapasalamat ako sa ating Presidente, kay Presidente Duterte, sa binigay nyang suporta at pagtitiwala sa aking kakayahan upang patuloy na maisulong ang iba’t-ibang program na atin ng naumpisahan sa CALABARZON.”  Janairo stated.

Janairo is the only health executive to served in nine Regional Offices as Director and the only to received an extension yet in the service from the department.

Dr. Janairo has enforced the needed change on the current set-up of the DOH in order for the government to improve health access to grass roots level and provide the necessary health care for the poor, the Indigenous People (IPs) and those in the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA).

We will continue what we have started, we have to strengthen the foundation of CALABARZON prime making it a model region for everyone to emulate,” he stressed.

Janairo assured that the next months will be a busy schedule for the regional office, continuing health reforms, strengthening health programs at the community level, upgrading health facilities and preventing communicable and non-communicable diseases including the present pandemic.
