BALANGA CITY — More and more tourists are expected to visit Mt. Natib in Orani, Bataan with the ongoing improvement of an access road leading to the famous hiking destinations.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently disclosed that the 3.3-kilometer access road leading to Mt. Natib is now 80 percent complete and will be finished by April this year.
“As the country’s tourism is slowly easing to normal to aid national recovery, DPWH is also fast-tracking the concreting of the Mulawin-Tala Road going to Bataan National Park,” DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said in a news statement.
DPWH Bataan 1st District Engineering Office chief, District Engineer Erlindo “Boying” Flores Jr. said a total of PhP96.5 million was allotted under the 2020 General Appropriations Act for the construction of the tourism road.
“Once completed, safer and more convenient travel await not only tourists going to this ecotourism zone but also for motorists and residents transporting their local products,” Villar added.
Recently, Bataan 1st District Rep. Geraldine Roman’s House Bill 7259 that seeks to declare Barangay Tala in Orani town as an ecotourism zone was approved at the House of Representatives.
