The Department of Transportation (DOTr) urged all airport passengers to download and register an account in the TRAZE Contact Tracing App prior entering the airport.

The mandatory use of the contact tracing app will be implemented beginning November 28, 2020.

To register, just simply download the TRAZE App from your mobile store and install it on your phone. Open the app and click the “Register” button below. Register as Individual. Follow the instructions indicated in the app and input the needed information. Activate your account

Meanwhile, passengers who do not have mobile phones or any other mobile gadget may go to the Malasakit Helpdesk at the airport where they will be provided assistance in getting a unique QR code. They may likewise ask a family member to register them with the app.

The QR code can be used at any DOTr Office nationwide.

TRAZE, a nationwide and unified contact tracing app is co-developed by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Cosmotech Philippines, Inc., which enables the government’s contact tracing efforts to be strengthened and be more efficient.

DOTr is confident that with TRAZE, the contact tracing process can now be done in just a few minutes, unlike the usual and manual process.

“Not only that—you can also be assured that your data is safe and secured, as the app fully complies with the Data Privacy Act (DPA) or Republic Act No. 10173. Further, it does not use bluetooth or GPS, and it works well even with slow mobile data and WiFi!” said DOTr in an advisory.
