DOH reports 1,012 new COVID-19 cases in the country

THE Department of Health (DOH) reported that there were 1,012 new COVID-19 cases reported in the country from January 30 to February 5, 2023.

This puts the average daily COVID-19 cases at 145 for the same period, which is 16 percent lower compared to the number of cases registered from January 23 to January 29.

Among the new cases reported by the DOH, no severe or critical cases were reported.

Meanwhile, 85 deaths were reported, with 11 deaths recorded from January 23 to February 5, 2023.

On February 5, 2023, 388 severe and critical cases were admitted in hospitals due to COVID-19. Of the 2,030 ICU beds for COVID-19 patients, 288 or 14.2 percent were occupied. On the other hand, 3,449 or 19.6 percent of the 17,627 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently being utilized.

In terms of vaccination, more than 73 million individuals or 94.55 percent of the target population have already been vaccinated against COVID-19, while 21 million received their booster shots.

For senior citizens, 6.9 million or 79.47 percent of the target A2 population have received their primary series.
