THE Department of Health (DOH) has distanced itself from the use of necklace air purifiers, which are said to be protective against the deadly coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a statement, the Health Department clarified that it does not endorsing by any means the use of air necklace air purifiers.
Although necklace air purifiers are not harmful to health, they do not encourage its use because it has not yet been proven effective against viruses or bacteria.
The wearing of face shields and masks, hand washing and physical distancing are still the safest in preventing the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, the DOH advised the public to follow only the department’s instructions and notices, as well as the World Health Organization (DOH) and other health institutions for factual information.
