HE has yet to assume his post as officer-in-charge of the Department of National Defense (DND) and retired General Jose Faustino, Jr. tests positive for COVID-19.
However, the DND said Faustino is asymptomatic and is currently in isolation.
Despite being in isolation, Faustino said he will continue to discharge his duties and will immediately return to work at the end of his isolation period.
It was learned from the DND that Faustino contracted the virus from a close contact who was already COVID-19 positive in one of the events he attended prior to his DND posting.
Contact tracing is already being conducted on people that Faustino came into close contact with.
Meanwhile, the transition ceremony at the DND will be held virtually tomorrow, July 1, 2022.
