In line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to combat illegal recruitment, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has shut down AEROSTRATEGIES INC., an unlicensed firm illegally recruiting aircraft mechanics for jobs in the United States.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac ordered the closure after the company was found engaging in unauthorized recruitment activities without the necessary DMW license. The operation, led by the DMW’s Migrant Workers Protection Bureau (MWPB) in coordination with local authorities, took place at the firm’s office in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
AEROSTRATEGIES INC. lured job seekers with promises of employment in Texas, USA, offering a salary of $3,344 (PHP 193,500+), despite lacking proper authorization. The company misrepresented itself as an aviation consultancy while conducting illegal recruitment.
“We will not allow illegal recruiters to exploit overseas job seekers. This firm deceived applicants by falsely presenting itself as a legitimate company. We urge job seekers to verify the legitimacy of recruitment agencies with the DMW before engaging in any overseas employment offers,” Secretary Cacdac stressed.
Investigations revealed multiple violations, including illegal recruitment, misrepresentation, and operating under a fraudulent business address. The company’s listed address in San Andres Bukid, Manila, was merely a transient lodging house, exposing its deceptive practices.
As a result, the DMW has blacklisted the company’s key officers and permanently barred them from any future recruitment activities. The department has also recommended the cancellation of the firm’s business permit in Mabalacat City and the revocation of its Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration. Legal actions against the company’s officers are currently being prepared.
