Day Three of the second version of the Enhanced Community Quarantine registered only more than 6,000 new COVID-19 cases today, says the latest bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH).
DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #382 showed a single-day count of new COVID-19 cases today to 6,128 to bring the total number of active cases to a 130,245 total.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country is now pegged at 747,288 overall.
New recoveries today were recorded at 491 compared to yesterday’s 103 to bring total recoveries to 603,746. However, the number of deaths was at 106 for a total of 13,297 COVID-19 deaths.
Of all the cases, about 98.4 percent are either mild (95.8 percent) or asymptomatic (2.6 percent).
Around 21 duplicates were removed from the total case count, eight of which are recoveries.
Moreover, 47 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths upon final validation.
Meanwhile, Six laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) on March 30, 2021.
With the spike of COVID-19 cases in the country, the DOH stressed that strict implementation of the Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat and Reintegrate (PDITR) strategy of Local Government Units, together with continuous adherence to the Minimum Health Protocols of the public, can help cut down COVID-19 transmission.
The public is also called on to wear their masks properly, and to observe other preventive strategies, AT ALL TIMES and IN ALL SETTINGS—even at home. The DOH continues to emphasize that the number one objective right now is to ensure care is not hampered nor delayed for COVID and non-COVID patients.
