THE Department of Health (DOH) reported that the daily average of COVID-19 cases in the country from June 27 to July 3, 2022 jumped to 1,057 cases.
This is 60-percent higher compared to the previous week of June 20 to June 26, 2022.
This means that as of yesterday, July 3, 2022, there are now 7,398 new COVID-19 cases recorded in the country.
Among the new cases, 19 were reported as severe and critical.
Meanwhile, 74 fatalities were recorded but none of these happened for the period June 20 to July 3, 2022.
Also, as of July 3, 2022, a total of 497 severe and critical patients were admitted in hospitals due to COVID-19. Out of the 2,487 ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients, 381 or 15.3 percent were occupied.
Meanwhile, 19.9 percent of the 21,791 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently being utilized.
As for the country’s vaccination scenario, more than 70 million individuals or 78.64 percent of the target population are already vaccinated against COVID-19, while 15.1 million individuals have already received their booster shots.
On the other hand, 6.7 million senior citizens or 77.66 percent of the target A2 population have already received their primary series.
