A TOTAL of 6,483 new COVID-19 cases were added to the national tally, which is now at 1,200,430, according to the latest COVID-19 Case Bulletin issued today, May 27, 2021 by the Department of Health (DOH).
The number of COVID-19 active cases, on the other hand, was at 48,109, or 4.0 percent of the overall number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Meanwhile, a total of 4,335 individuals were reported today to have recovered from the dreaded disease from China, which brings to 1,131,942, or 94.3 percent of the overall case tally, the total number of recoveries.
However, 210 individuals died today, bringing to 20,379 the overall number of COVID-19 fatalities.
All laboratories operated last May 25, 2021 while around Six laboratories failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). As of the last 14 days, the Six non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 2.2 percent of samples tested and 3.9 percent of positive individuals.
There were also 25 duplicates that were removed from the total case count, with 22 of them listed as recoveries.
Additionally, four cases were found to have tested negative and were removed from the total case count. Two of them are recoveries.
Moreover, 139 cases tagged earlier as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
