COVID-19 cases inching closer to the 1-million mark

The number of COVID-19 cases in the country continue to inch closer to the 1-million mark as the total number of cases of COVID-19 went up further to 936,133, based on latest data from the Department of Health (DOH).

Today, an additional 10,098 new COVID-19 cases were recorded, while the DOH’s Oplan Recovery netted a total of 72,607 new recoveries while 150 people died because of the disease.

Overall, there are now 779,084 total recoveries while a total of 15,960 people have died.

Active cases are now pegged at 141,089.

There are a total of 17 duplicates that were removed from the total case count wherein 7 were recorded as recoveries.

Aside from this, 48 cases that were tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths  after final validation.

The DOH continues to remind the public that the collective compliance with public health standards is key to everyone’s safety.
