PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Dionardo Carlos warned that any police personnel who will receive gifts from illegal sources this Christmas will be dismissed from service.
Gen. Carlos made the pronouncement after issuing the “no take policy” among police personnel this holiday season.
He explained that they will not allow any form of solicitation or receiving of gifts with monetary value.
However, police personnel are allowed to receive simple tokens such as food packs.
Carlos said that he will order an investigation if he receives three complaints from different sources about cops receiving bribes.
He said that aside from dismissal from service, they will file appropriate charges against erring police personnel who will be proven to have received bribes, especially those coming from people involved in illegal drugs and gambling.
