THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) assured that it is ready if in case it encounters issues on the day of the elections itself.
Comelec Commissioner George Garcia said that in case the teachers who are members of the election board fail to appear, other teachers are in place who are ready to replace them.
“Meron po tayong pamamalit agad sa mga miyembro po ng mga electoral boards. May guidelines po tayo kung paano sila papalitan (we already have replacements to members of the electoral boards. There are also guidelines as to how they will be replaced),” ani Garcia.
Garcia also believes that the delivery of election paraphernalia will not experience any delays because these were sent early to areas where elections will be held.
Focus is also given in terms of security every elections, including issues of terrorism and other forms of violence.
“Patuloy pa rin po nating minamanmanan ang iba’t ibang parte ng ating bansa lalo na sa isyu ng seguridad, yung violence and terrorism, na maari po yung nag-iisip na ibang kandidato, yung ibang nag-iisip na grupo na gustong maghasik ng lagim sa atin pong bansa sa araw ng eleksyon, hindi po natin papayagan (we continuously monitor the situation in different parts of the country, especially in the issue of security, violence and terrorism, that there are candidates or groups who may be thinking of sowing terror in the country on election day, we will not allow it to happen,” adds Garcia.
