THE eight people who were close contacts of the tourist from Finland tested positive of COVID-19.
The Department of Health (DOH) announced the result of the contact tracing done on the close contacts of the Finnish tourist, who tested positive of BA.2.12, a subvariant of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
Six of the close contacts tested negative based on examinations, while the others did not undergo testing based on existing protocols.
Among the 30 contacts at the airplane, three already returned to their respective countries.
The DOH, meanwhile, said that verification and updates on what they are doing regarding the first case of BA.2.12 Omicron subvariant in the country is ongoing.
