Construction and expansion of NKTI’s new OPD building gets P550-M funds from DBM

THE Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced that it approved the release of P550 million for the Out-Patient Department (OPD) building of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) in Quezon City.

DBM Secretary Mina Pangandaman said the DBM approved the issuance of Special Allotment Release Orders (SAROs) of the total amount in order to cover the funding requirements for the construction and expansion of the new OPD building and in support of the enhancement of the country’s healthcare facilities.

Ang palagi pong sinasabi ng ating mahal na Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., no Filipino should be deprived of quality health care. That’s why we continuously give high regard to our health care facilities, more importantly, our specialty hospitals like NKTI,” Pangandaman said.

The OPD Building was designed to be a one-stop shop for the hospital’s social services, including diagnostic and surgical facilities. With the construction of the proposed 8-storey OPD Building, it will help amplify the NKTI’s capabilities as a healthcare institution that specializes in the treatment and prevention of kidney and allied diseases.

The facility will provide areas for the expansion of outpatient services of the hospital with a total cost of P1.331 billion.
