Command Center in Pilar, Bataan, inaugurated

The Pilar Command Center in Bataan was formally opened at a separate new building next to the Municipal Hall, Monday morning, October 19, 2020.

Pilar Municipal Mayor Carlos “Charlie” Pizarro Jr. who led the inauguration together with his Vice Mayor Marino Caguimbal, attended by their Sangguniang Board members.

The new OIC-Provincial Director of the Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO), Police Col. Joel Tampis also joined the said ceremony.

According to Pizarro, apart from being the central command center of Pilar town, it will also serve as the backbone or back-up for the 1Bataan Command Center located in Orani town for contact tracing efforts and quarantine checkpoints.

“There are 10 personnel per shift on duty here and the operation is 24 hours. There are 50 CCTV cameras in strategic areas in Bataan and Pilar focused on any event, ”Mayor Pizarro said in a media interview.

Pizarro added that this is also in compliance with the strict mitigation measures against the spread of COVID-19, in addition to monitoring traffic, emergency response, strict observance of physical distancing and peace and order in his town and the entire province of Bataan.
