Comelec reminds the public about voter registration

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) reminded the public that voter registration will continue starting Monday, July 4, 2022, particularly the new voters, the deactivated voters, those who will transfer addresses, or those who will change their personal information.

In Comelec’s Resolution 10798, the offices of the Election Officer will be open for those who will register from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, including holidays, and will last until July 23, 2022.

The Election Officer can also choose to conduct the voter registration in a much bigger area as long as approved by the Provincial Election Supervisor and confirmed by the Regional Election Director.

Based on a decision of the Comelec en banc, when the clock strikes 3 p.m. on July 23, the names of those on queue for voter registration within a 30-meter radius of the registration area shall be placed on a list.

They will be the only ones who will be allowed to register on the last day, but they must be present in the area when their names are called three times so that their applications can be processed.
