Chelsea Manalo has returned to Manila after being crowned the first-ever Miss Universe Asia in Mexico during the Miss Universe 2024 pageant last month.
The Miss Universe Philippines Organization shared videos of her arrival at the airport, where she was warmly welcomed by fans and members of the media.
“I’m so happy to be back home in the Philippines,” she told reporters in an interview at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) arriving area.
Chelsea admitted feeling emotional upon her return, sharing how the experience of representing the Philippines in Mexico impacted her.
“When I landed here, I was probably even more nervous to see the Filipinos again,” she said with a laugh.
Now holding the title of Miss Universe Asia, Chelsea expressed her excitement to collaborate on upcoming projects and activities with other continental queens.
During her Miss Universe 2024 journey, Chelsea made it to the Top 30 and also brought pride to the country by winning the Best in National Costume award, showcasing a religion-inspired ensemble designed by Manny Halasan.
