Cebuana Lhuillier Bank Empowers Filipinos to Save with “Ipon Moves” Campaign

In celebration of World Savings Day 2025, Cebuana Lhuillier Bank (CLB) is inspiring Filipinos nationwide to take small but meaningful steps toward financial empowerment through its “Ipon Moves” campaign. The initiative aims to encourage every Filipino to make saving a daily habit and embrace the belief that every “ipon move” — no matter how small — can lead to a brighter, more secure future.

The “Ipon Moves” campaign, part of CLB’s broader financial inclusion advocacy, serves as a call to action for Filipinos to take charge of their financial future. It highlights the importance of consistent saving and showcases how small efforts can translate into major life milestones. Through Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings, clients have access to a secure and convenient platform to manage their funds, regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) for up to PHP1,000,000 per depositor.

“Our goal has always been to make financial services accessible to every Filipino, especially those who have limited access to traditional banking. Through Micro Savings and initiatives like Ipon Moves, we aim to nurture a culture of saving that empowers families to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life,” according to Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier.

This year, Cebuana Lhuillier Bank brought the “Ipon Moves” campaign closer to communities through a nationwide roadshow. The tour visited various Cebuana Lhuillier and Cebuana Lhuillier Bank branches, celebrating the inspiring saving journeys of everyday Filipinos. A key feature of the campaign was the “Wish IPON a Dream” Wall, where clients could write down their dreams and the reasons behind their savings. The wall became a powerful testament to the perseverance, love, and faith that motivate Filipinos to save.

Among the inspiring stories featured were those of Rossini Abriola, a 63-year-old mother from Las Piñas who saves diligently to support her son’s education; Arnel Peralta, a 52-year-old single father and person with disability from Laguna who dreams of opening a sari-sari store; Rizchel Canillo, a hardworking single mother and e-bike driver from Cebu saving to buy her own e-bike battery; and Maria Robilyn Sabanto, a 26-year-old breadwinner from Cagayan de Oro who saves to gift her father a mountain bike as a token of gratitude.

In recognition of their determination and inspiring financial discipline, Cebuana Lhuillier Bank granted each of them their wishes shared on the “Wish IPON a Dream” Wall. Rossini received a brand-new laptop for her son’s studies, Arnel was provided with grocery packages to jumpstart his small store, Rizchel received a new e-bike battery to help her sustain her livelihood, and Robilyn was gifted a mountain bike for her father.

Through these touching stories, Cebuana Lhuillier Bank reinforces the message that saving is not merely about setting aside money, it’s about building hope, demonstrating love, and preparing for a better tomorrow. The “Ipon Moves” campaign reminds Filipinos that every peso saved, no matter how small, is a step closer to achieving their dreams and securing their family’s future.
