Caliraya Dam in near spilling level; some areas not passable

Action officers of the province of Laguna and the town of Lumban have alerted residents living in nearby river to evacuate immediately as the Caliraya Dam is about to release water.

The said Dam reaches 287.72 meters, which already near in spilling level and is about to release water.

It’s just a matter of time before it could breach the 288 meters and would overflows the dam.

Meanwhile, most of the areas in Calamba City are not passable to any type of vehicles due to flooding.

Motorists entering and exiting the city cannot pass through the National Hiway in Barangay Parian where floodwaters reaches from 3 feet deep.

Public Order and Safety Office POSO Chief Jeffrey Rodriguez said there are two vehicles, a van and a bus, currently under floodwaters on the road.

Rodriguez advised motorists to wait until the flooding subsides so they can pass easily and not to cause heavy traffic.
