BOC confiscates several kilos of chicken meat at the NAIA

OPERATIVES of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) confiscated an estimated 16 kilos of processed chicken at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

According to District Collector Carmelita Talusan, the illegal cargo was discovered in the luggage of a Vietnamese passenger. The cargo was then transferred to the care of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI). 

Talusa said the shipment had no sanitary and import permits.

From January to July 2022, an estimated 1,176.2 kilos of meat have been confiscated from passengers arriving from overseas.
