Anti-criminality drive in Batangas intensifies

CAMP VICENTE LIM, CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – AT least 89 individuals were arrested in simultaneous operations conducted by the Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) headed by Col. Rex Arvin Malimban.

In the first week of the operation (January 1-8), 29 of the arrested were gamblers involved in illegal cockfighting or “Tupada,” and collectors of Small Town Lottery (STL) bookies.

There were also 42 drug personalities caught in different operations which resulted in the confiscation of more than 41 grams of shabu and marijuana worth P249, 896.

Through the intensified police operations, 18 wanted individuals with pending warrants of arrest were also nabbed.

Six of the arrested are listed as Most Wanted Persons (MWP) in the city and municipality levels, while one is among the Top 4 Most Wanted in the province.

Meanwhile, thru “Balik-Armas” program, at least 10 undocumented handguns were surrendered to authorities for safekeeping.

“Patuloy po kayong makakaasa sa dekalidad na serbisyo mula sa hanay ng ating kapulisan dito sa probinsya ng Batangas. Patuloy po kaming maglilingkod para sa kaligtasan ng bawat isa.” Malimban said.
