Arestado ang isang American sex offender na wanted ng US federal authorities, ayon ito sa Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Kinilala ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente ang banyagang pugante na si Michael Dennis Hartsock, 71 anyos, na naaresto ng mga operatiba ng Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) ng BI sa Brgy. Ubojan, Loon, Bohol City.
Ayon kay Morente, nagbaba ito ng mission order kasunod ng hiling ng US authorities na tulungan sila upang mahanap at maaresto si Hartsock.
Sinabi naman ni FSU Head Bobby Raquepo na isinagawa ang operasyon sa koordinasyon at pakikipag-tulungan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa Bohol.
“Hartsock is the subject of a 10-year old Warrant of Arrest issued by the San Joaquin County Superior Criminal Court in California,” dagdag pa ni Raquepo.
Batay sa record, si Hartsock ay wanted sa 6 counts ng sexual contact sa mga menor de edad.
Itinuturing nang undocumented alien si Hartsock matapos na ma-expire ang kanyang pasaporte noong 2017.
“The fugitive is an undocumented and overstaying alien who poses risks to the security and safety of the public, especially of Filipino children,” pahayag ni Morente.
“We will deport him and put him on the BI’s blacklist to prevent him from re-entering the country,” dagdag pa ng komisyuner.
Pansamantala namang nakadetine sa NBI headquarters sa Bohol si Hartsock habang hinihintay ang kanyang paglilipat sa BI detencion center sa Bicutan, Taguig.
