THE Department of Health (DOH) said that it logged 19,536 new COVID-19 cases in the country during the week of July 18 to 24, 2022.
This means the daily average of COVID-19 cases in the country for that week was recorded at 2,791, which is 33-percent higher compared to the previous week of July 11 to 17, 2022.
From the new cases, 56 were severe and critical, while 42 individuals succumbed to the disease, but none of these deaths occurred from July 11 to 24, 2022.
As of July 24, 2022, 666 patients were recorded as severe and critical and were admitted in hospitals due to COVID-19. Out of the 2,664 ICU beds allotted for patients with COVID-19, 578 or 21.7 percent are occupied. Meanwhile, 26.0 percent of the 22,331 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently being utilized.
Currently, more than 71 million individuals or 91.61 percent of the target population are already vaccinated against COVID-19, while 15.9 million individuals have already received booster shots.
On the other hand, 6.7 million senior citizens or 77.87 percent of the target A2 population have already received their primary series of vaccination.
