CAMP GENERAL NAKAR, Lucena City – FORMER Pagbilao, Quezon Mayor Romeo Roces Portes who was assassinated by riding in tandem last November 24, died on Saturday, around 9 a.m. December 5. He was 73.
Portes was unconsciously under medical treatment for 10 days at St. Lukes Hospital in Taguig City, however, did not survive his assassin’s bullet.
According to Police Major Reden Romansata, Pagbilao’s Municipal top cop, Portes was shot several times by two armed assailants in front of KGP Building along Rizal Street, Barangay Bukal, while having his therapy.
Portes was rushed to MMG Hospital in Lucena City and later transferred to St. Lukes Hospital.
Prior to the incident, Quezon Provincial Police Office (QPPO) Director Col. Audie Madrideo created the Special Investigation Task Group – Portes or “SITG Portes” which composed of different law enforcement unit to immediately resolve the case.
The family of the late Portes is now offering a P500,000 cash as a reward for those who can catch the suspects, dead or alive.
Meanwhile, it was Pagbilao Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic who announced the death of his father while undergoing medical procedure.
