Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has retained the highest corporate governance rating awarded to publicly listed companies in the Philippines, reinforcing its standing as a telecommunications player that places transparency, accountability, and responsible management at the center of its business strategy.
The fiber broadband provider received the Five Golden Arrow distinction for the second consecutive year at the Institute of Corporate Directors’ (ICD) Golden Arrow Awards that was held recently.
The recognition places Converge among the country’s top-performing publicly listed companies in corporate governance, based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS), which evaluates governance practices against regional standards.
For Converge, the back-to-back recognition marks a significant milestone in its evolution from an emerging broadband challenger into an established industry player, reflecting its efforts to strengthen corporate oversight alongside business expansion.
The company’s governance performance has steadily improved since its listing on the Philippine Stock Exchange in October 2020. It initially received a One Golden Arrow rating before advancing to Three Golden Arrows in 2022 and 2023, eventually securing the highest Five Golden Arrow distinction in 2024.
Former Senior Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe, chairperson of the Converge Board of Directors, said the consecutive top ratings demonstrate how the company has integrated rigorous governance standards into its growth.
Beyond the recognition, the achievement carries broader significance for investors and stakeholders as corporate governance remains a critical factor in assessing business resilience, risk management, and long-term value creation.
Strong governance practices are particularly relevant to the telecommunications sector, where substantial infrastructure investments, rapid technological changes, and growing data protection responsibilities demand effective corporate oversight.

Converge Independent Director and Immediate Past Chairman Jose de Jesus emphasized that governance provides the foundation for the company’s mission of expanding access to reliable digital connectivity.
“Regardless of how rapidly the technological landscape shifts, our true north remains unchanged. Our mission is to democratize technology by providing access to world-class, quality internet to the unserved and underserved,” De Jesus said.
The company also underscored the role of sound governance in balancing commercial growth with its responsibilities to communities, particularly as broadband connectivity becomes increasingly important to economic participation and digital inclusion.
According to Converge Corporate Compliance, Data Protection, and Sustainability Officer Laurice Esteban-Tuason, governance is treated not simply as a regulatory obligation but as a strategic tool for managing risks and sustaining business performance.
The latest recognition highlights Converge’s progress in building a stronger corporate governance framework within six years of becoming a publicly listed company.
As the company pursues further expansion in the Philippine broadband market, maintaining high governance standards will remain essential to sustaining investor confidence, protecting stakeholder interests, and supporting long-term corporate growth.
