The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is coordinating with technical experts from various government agencies to strengthen the security of its database following a security breach involving one of the agency’s online support platforms.
The LTFRB is working with information technology specialists from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to assess the extent of the incident involving the LTFRB Electronic Support System (LESS).
The agency said the specific data affected and the overall impact of the incident are still undergoing technical validation. The LTFRB is also coordinating with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) as part of its response.
The LTFRB assured the public that necessary data security measures are being implemented immediately to address the incident and contain any potential risks. As a precautionary measure, LESS has temporarily been taken offline.
All services and transactions involving LESS are therefore suspended until further notice, the agency announced.
LTFRB information technology personnel continue to work closely with their counterparts in the concerned government agencies to ensure that the system is safely restored once the necessary security assessments and measures have been completed.
All concerned offices and personnel are advised not to access or process any transactions through LESS until the LTFRB issues an official notice confirming the system’s restoration.
