Tanduay Pays Tribute to Filipino Resilience in Independence Day Feature Campaign

In celebration of the country’s 128th Independence Day, Tanduay is rolling out a campaign that blends culture, community, and creativity in honoring the Filipino spirit of perseverance.

Branded as “Tagay ng Kalayaan,” the campaign pays tribute to hardworking Filipinos through a series of activations, including curated cocktail experiences at two prominent bars in Poblacion, Makati, and an online film set to premiere across the company’s official social media platforms starting June 12.

According to Tanduay Brand Manager Gem Leonard Boy, the initiative is intended to recognize the everyday struggles and resilience of Filipinos across different walks of life.

“Tagay ng Kalayaan is our way of recognizing and honoring the everyday struggles of the Filipino, those who continue to get up and work every day, pushing forward despite the obstacles they meet along the way. Your sacrifices for your family and the country have made our freedom more meaningful, and we offer this Tagay Tanduay to you,” Boy said.

As part of the celebration, special cocktail menus and game nights will be held on June 12 starting 9:00 p.m. at Alamat Filipino Cuisine and Polilya | Craft Beer and Cocktails in Poblacion, Makati.

The featured drinks highlight rum-based creations inspired by regional flavors across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, showcasing ingredients and profiles associated with Filipino culinary identity.

At Alamat, the menu includes Luzon Colada with strawberry and bibingka-inspired notes, Visayas Daiquiri featuring mango and pineapple flavors, and Mindanao Mule infused with calamansi and ginger.

At Polilya, guests will be served Kapitolyo Dream with jackfruit infusion, Siesta Queen blending mango and pineapple jam, and Cotabato Fire, a bolder mix featuring durian jam, ginger, and chili.

Beyond the bar activations, the campaign also includes an online film that reflects on Filipino resilience across generations. The film underscores a message of continuity between past struggles and present freedoms, stating that “every time Filipinos demonstrate strength, freedom remains alive,” and that although circumstances change, the shared journey of perseverance continues.

The film will be released on June 12 across Tanduay’s official YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts.

Founded in 1854, Tanduay frames the campaign within its long-standing history in the Philippines, noting its presence through major historical periods and its evolution from a Manila-based brand to an internationally recognized name.

The company said the campaign is both a tribute and a gesture of gratitude to Filipinos who have supported its growth over the decades, emphasizing its continued commitment to producing quality and innovative products rooted in Filipino identity.

Tanduay’s Independence Day campaign positions itself as both a cultural celebration and a recognition of everyday resilience, linking national history with contemporary expressions of Filipino pride and perseverance.
