Qube Smart Lockers Activated at San Lorenzo Place Mall, Boosting Makati’s Smart City Push

QUBE Smart Technology Corp. marked a new milestone in its nationwide smart city initiative with the official activation of the QUBE Smart Locker at San Lorenzo Place Mall in Makati City on 17 November 2025. The launch represents QUBE’s continued commitment to simplifying how Filipinos work, live, and play by integrating smart, secure, and user-centric technologies into everyday urban environments.

The newly activated QUBE Smart Locker introduces a multi-service technology designed to enhance convenience, security, and accessibility. QUBE, an innovative start-up specializing in smart technology solutions, has created a product portfolio focused on making city living easier. Its smart lockers integrate advanced security features to ensure that personal belongings remain safe from theft and damage, even in high-traffic spaces. Two of its flagship services — KEEP and PAY — provide additional value to users. The KEEP service enables individuals to securely store bags, luggage, and other valuables while they dine, shop, or explore the mall, making errands and leisure activities more convenient and hands-free. Meanwhile, the PAY service allows commuters to purchase or top up their beep™ cards directly through the smart locker system, helping them save time and avoid long queues at traditional reloading stations.

The activation ceremony brought together key leaders from QUBE, AF Payments Inc., and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls. Leading the event was Alexander Que, Chief Executive Officer of QUBE Smart Technology Corp., accompanied by Lance Navarro, Sales and Business Development Head; Donavhi Divina de Guzman, Key Accounts Associate; and Lei Andrei Sugaste, Operations and Innovation Analyst. Their participation showcased QUBE’s unified direction toward strengthening its smart locker presence across strategic locations in Metro Manila and beyond. Representing AF Payments Inc., the operator of the beep™ card network, was Marvin Ibañez, Business and Partnership Manager, who expressed strong support for integrating commuter payment services into QUBE’s technology. From San Lorenzo Place Mall and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, Steffi “Batch” Famatiga, General Manager, delivered remarks emphasizing the mall’s commitment to elevating customer convenience through smart innovation. She was joined by Stephen Montemayor, Senior Mall Manager of Makati Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, who likewise reinforced the mall’s goal of adopting modern solutions that benefit residents, commuters, and shoppers.

Designed to be fully contactless and user-friendly, the QUBE Smart Locker ensures quick and seamless transactions. Each compartment is continuously monitored and engineered to prioritize security, enabling users to confidently store personal items while navigating the mall or completing routine errands. By bringing together secure storage and essential commuter services in one accessible location, QUBE supports smoother daily mobility and contributes to community-building efforts within urban centers.

The company’s head highlighted their broader vision for the Philippines’ digital future. He shared that QUBE is working to simplify how Filipinos work, live, and play using smart technologies. “We’re simplifying how Filipinos work, live, and play using smart technologies… starting right here in Makati City. We’re introducing not just a locker. We’re introducing an ecosystem where Filipinos can thrive from using smart city innovations,” Que said at the activation ceremonies.

The installation of QUBE Smart Locker at San Lorenzo Place Mall forms part of a growing smart city ecosystem that QUBE aims to establish nationwide. The company is actively partnering with malls, transit terminals, residential developments, museums, and various local organizations to integrate smart technologies into the everyday lives of Filipinos. With San Lorenzo Place Mall positioned as a vital commuter hub in Makati City, the new smart locker plays a key role in strengthening the city’s shift toward smart and connected urban living.
